One man ruled over this land as it's emporer. His name was Vetus. Vetus ruled for decades before his wife bore 2 twin sons; Nox and Amicus.
The sons grew up as any royality, learning how to be proper and preparing to rule when it was time. Amicus, the eldest, was first in line for the throne. He recieved only the best training, ranging from fighting to persuassion. Vetus could not have been more proud of Amicus.
As time went by, Nox became increasingly envious of his brother Amicus and all the attention he was getting from their father. It seemed unfair to him, that Vetus wouldn't allow Nox to prepare for royality too, despite him being younger.
One night, Nox decided he couldn't take it anymore. So he ran. Unknown to him, he had just started a revolution.
Once Vetus had passed away, Amicus stepped up to rule as an Emporer. His kingdom of Privus, though mourning of the once great king, rejoiced as Amicus took the throne.
Over several days, things were quiet. Peaceful, almost. In an instant, that all changed. Nox, infuriated with his brother, gathered the help of two other leaders, Lucrum and Cinis. They waitied outside the gates of Privus, ready to strike. When the gates opened, Nox, Lucrum, and Cinis stormed the castle in search of Amicus.
With the looming threat of Nox, Amicus sought the only solution he could. Dark Magic. As the 3 leaders got to Amicus' locked study, Amicus prepared. Lucrum and Cinis began thrusting themself at the door, trying to break it down. When the locked door had finally given way, Amicus was standing there waiting, though abnormally calm.
Nox stepped forward, ready to address his concerns, but was cut off by his own brothers deep cackle. It seemed to rattle the room. A tense atmosphere filled the room as the leaders backed away. By then it was too late. A blue like energy surged from Amicus and into the leaders.
By the end of the 4th Era, a vast majority of the kingdoms had been fully infected with this virus. All hope was seemingly gone.
Until Veronia was found. Survivors from all over Civitas traveled boat after boat to this last known land, seemingly unsettled and never before discovered.
The last of the uninfected left Civitas as the 5th Era began, none looking back and all with nothing.
